International Kite Festival is held every year on 14th of January every year. On this day the skies come alive with kites in a hundreds of different colours, shapes and sizes, fluttering and darting above, triumphantly cutting another kite’s string, and soaring way up above the earth. Many cities around the world celebrate this International Kite Festival at some open places like stadium, where kite enthusiasts gather from all across the world to show off their skills. Along with kite market food stalls are also established. Cultural performances and special kite displays are also arranged during the day and night. At some places the kite festival is celebrated during the night when especially designed kites are illuminated from inside.
